New Year's Resolution Six: Exercising More

We’re tackling some of the biggest New Year’s Resolutions while also helping you save. That’s right, you get a 2 for 1 with Brandefy. Today’s resolution is all about exercising. We’re testing some Amazon brand clothing, and a yoga mat. In addition, we’ll share some of our favorite free ways to get a workout in. Psstt… our opinions are those of Brandefy, and we are not paid by anyone to share them :)

Amazon-Core 10 Women's 'Build Your Own' Onstride Run Capri Legging vs. LuLuLemon- Wunder Under Crop

Similarity Score: 75%

The LuLuLemon leggings had a much better fit and hugged around the calf, whereas the Core 10 leggings just sat on it and created a gap at the edges. We were impressed by the tummy control the Core 10 offered, but we wish it didn't have a drawstring- it's unnesscary and just runs the risk of getting out of place in the wash. Both wicked away sweat well in a hot yoga class and moved well at spin. If we could get over the fit, we would switch, but for now we will recommend this: size DOWN with Core 10 and size UP with LuLuLemon. Buy Core10 Here and LuLuLemon Here.

Amazon - GoodSport Crop Legging vs. LuLuLemon- Wunder Under Crop

Similarity Score: 60%

While the Core10 leggings by Amazon are a decent alternative to LuLuLemon, the GoodSport brand is NOT! It does not offer control-top tummy (it tries to do so, but is a much smaller seam), nor does it wick moisture well like it advertises. We also found the material to be much thinner and somewhat opaque. The fit is the only thing that seems right about these leggings, but they still just don’t suck in well because the fabric feels cheap.

ToPlus Yoga Mat vs. LuLuLemon Yoga Mat

While not solely an Amazon brand, ToPlus carries a much more reasonable price tag than LuLuLemon, and Amazon is one of the few places where you can find the ToPlus mat. When we first opened it, we thought for sure it was thinner than the LuLuLemon. Upon measuring the ToPlus mat, we discovered it is an eighth of an inch THICKER than LuLuLemon. It also provides more of a grip with its grooves and the foam is squishier/ more comfortable, in our opinion. We felt it gave more support and stayed in place better when changing our poses. If you like the smooth surface of the LuLuLemon mat, this may not be for you, but we liked the ToPlus mat for our needs. Buy ToPlus Here
