Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara vs. L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

*According to Cruelty Free Kitty, L'Oreal is NOT a cruelty free brand while Too Faced is a cruelty free brand.* Better than Sex is $24/tube and L'Oreal is $7/ tube. Both products come in a similar pink tube with an hourglass application wand but the Better Than Sex mascara packaging is heavier and has a more pronounced hourglass shape. Both mascaras created intense volume with excellent black pigmentation. Both grabbed onto the lashes, curled, and had nearly identical looks after application and would recommend trying this L’Oreal dupe. Buy our pick

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara vs. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

*Neither brand is cruelty-free. Benefit is $20 while Maybelline is $6.40. The Benefit Roller lash wand is a bit skinnier than the Maybelline. Two coats of mascara were applied to each eye. The Benefit clumped up a little bit after the second coat while the Maybelline second coat went on smoothly. We got more of a lift/curl with the Benefit than with the Maybelline. About 10 hours later both mascaras held up really well. No flaking or smudging. Nothing fell under the eyes for either mascara. We do believe that the Benefit mascara does give more lift/curl but you could achieve the same look with the Maybelline if you use an eyelash curler prior to application. Buy our pick

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara vs. L’Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara

One of the few instances where we found the packaging of the L’Oreal mascara to be similar in luxury as the Lancôme. However, it took L’Oreal two applications to achieve the same volume as one coat of Lancôme. Both have similar application wands. So if you don't mind working a little harder this is a great drugstore alternative! Buy our pick

Buxom Lash Mascara vs. Cover Girl Flourish by Lash Blast Mascara

*Both brands are certified cruelty-free according to Ethical Elephant. Makeup Maven, Katie, says: Covergirl gives more volume while the Buxom gives more length, however, both last all day and make your lashes look amazing! If you are looking for a great mascara at a cheaper price, the CoverGirl is the way to go. Buy our pick

Dior Diorshow Mascara vs. Sephora Collection LashCraft Length & Volume Mascara

*Neither brand is cruelty-free. Don't let the low ingredient score fool you! Diorshow contains several parabens and Sephora Collection is paraben free! Makeup guru, Nitya, says:Both mascara brushes were similar in style but Diorshow's was just a much bigger mascara brush head. It took Sephora 3 coats to get the same effect as Diorshow but once both were on there was little difference and gave great volume and length without getting clumpy. So if you don't mind working a little bit harder this is a great alternative for half the price. Buy our pick
