Dior Lip Glow Dupe Roundup
We’re all about the glow, but we’re not about a $34 price tag. See what Kayla has to say.
According to Cruelty-Free Kitty, neither Dior nor Sephora Collection is cruelty-free* Makeup Maven, Kayla, found Dior Lip Glow at $34 for 3.5 grams & Sephora Collection Lip Balm at $6 for 3.5 grams. She says: Dior has a very unique luxurious component compared to Sephora Collection. Sephora has a cardboard component. Both products smell very good. Both have a very smooth application. Both feel very hydrating on the lips and give your lips a slight sheer tint. They are both beautiful especially if you are not a fan of lipsticks. Both products made my lips feel hydrated and neither were sticky. In the end, I think there are so many other lip balms that are very similar if not the same as Dior Lip Glow & Sephora Collection is it. I think for the price nothing is really 'special' except for the packaging. If you're looking for a good lip balm that hydrates, smells nice & stays on your lips for quite some time definitely check out Sephora Collection. You will save so much.
*According to Cruelty-Free Kitty, Dior is NOT cruelty-free, but Catrice is cruelty-free. Makeup Maven, Kayla, found Dior Lip Glow for $34 for 3.5 grams and Catrice for $6 for 3.5 grams. Kayla says: Upon first using Catrice I really liked it but the more I used it the more I started not to. It goes on easy on the lips but feels a little waxy. It doesn't really hydrate your lips at all. After the balm dries I think my lips felt much drier than they were before. Catrice is a tinted balm that supposedly works with your personal PH level to slowly intensifies the color depending on your levels. The more you apply the more intense the color is supposed to get. However no matter how I put it on it always looked hot pink on. It also looks like I have 'Koolaid' mouth - which is something no one wants. I wasn't a fan of the Catrice brand at all. Dior, on the other hand, is very smooth on the lips & it lasts for quite a while on your lips. Once it dries your lips do actually feel hydrated. Dior gives your lips a very sheer pink tint to it. Nothing like Catrice - it's very natural looking. Neither product has an unpleasant fragrance. Final thoughts are that the $34 lip balm is totally worth the splurge over the Catrice lip balm unless you're into the hot pink tint.
