10. Elf Blush in Candid Coral vs. Nars Blush in Orgasm

In their packaging, these blushes look incredibly different - the NARS a peachy pink, and the ELF an orange-based coral. But on the cheeks, these look incredibly close in both color and finish, and our expert tester found that the wear time is also about the same on the cheeks. She asked a friend to try them on, and they looked even closer in color on her skin than the testers! Some differences: the NARS blush has more obvious glitter particles in it, but does tend to pick up a bit better on a blush brush for application. The ELF blush is actually smoother to the touch. We don't think you need to spend $27 more on the NARS, the ELF is a great product! Buy our pick

9. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara vs. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit is $20 while Maybelline is $6.40. The Benefit Roller lash wand is a bit skinnier than the Maybelline. Two coats of mascara were applied to each eye. The Benefit clumped up a little bit after the second coat while the Maybelline second coat went on smoothly. We got more of a lift/curl with the Benefit than with the Maybelline. About 10 hours later both mascaras held up really well. No flaking or smudging. Nothing fell under the eyes for either mascara. We do believe that the Benefit mascara does give more lift/curl but you could achieve the same look with the Maybelline if you use an eyelash curler prior to application. Buy our pick

8. Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder vs. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Laura Mercier is $32/ ounce and Maybelline is just under $6. Although Maybelline advertises this as a finishing powder, our makeup maven thinks it is more effective as a setting powder and an excellent dupe for Laura Mercier's translucent setting powder. There are some differences, Maybelline is not translucent and comes in 8 shades so it does give off some pigment so you will need to be careful with what shade you use. Laura Mercier comes in 2 shades - original and deep for darker skin tones. But both were highly effective in setting makeup and keeping under concealer from creasing with no flashback. We would recommend trying out Maybelline! Buy our pick

7. Wet & Wild MegaGlow Highlighting Powder in Golden Flower Crown vs. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne

This is the closest dupe we've found to Champagne Pop & at $4.99 versus Becca at $38 our beauty guru thinks it's totally worth it! These are very similar in their color, vibrancy & formula. Champagne Pop is a bit more pigmented while Gold Flower Crown is a bit sheerer but buildable. So you can get it to look as pigmented as CP with a little bit of work. They are both a bit creamy in texture & blend wonderfully on the skin. Buy our pick

6. L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara vs. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Better than Sex is $24/tube and L'Oreal is $7/ tube. Both products come in a similar pink tube with an hourglass application wand but the Better Than Sex mascara packaging is heavier and has a more pronounced hourglass shape. Both mascaras created intense volume with excellent black pigmentation. Both grabbed onto the lashes, curled, and had nearly identical looks after application and would recommend trying this Loreal dupe. Buy our pick

5. e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer vs. Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer

Our tester was pleasantly surprised by this comparison. For 20g at $52 for the Tatcha & 21g at $8 for the ELF, she was hoping they would be similar & they ARE. For anyone who could not justify spending the money on Tatcha, ELF Poreless Putty is extremely close to Tatcha. Right down to the look & feel of it. She wore ELF on one side of her face & Tatcha on the othe. Tatcha filled in the pores a little bit more than ELF, but both sides of the face were incredibly smooth. Her foundation slid on over it with ease and blended out beautifully. The wear time with both was exactly the same. After a 12 hour work day both primers held up. For the price difference you really cannot beat ELF over Tatcha. Buy our pick

4. e.l.f. 16 Hour Camo Concealer vs. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Makeup Guru, Kayla, says: Tarte is $27 for 0.33 oz & ELF is $5 for 0.2 oz. Tarte does have a larger shade range. Both have large doe foot applicators. Both have a chemical makeup smell. Both are very full coverage. I actually think ELF is easier to blend out and work with. I have very dry under eyes and I do get a bit of creasing when I under eye conceal with Tarte. However, with ELF I get very, very little creasing. ELF did not look cakey at all. I was pleasantly surprised with just how good this ELF concealer really is. Concealing a blemish it also works very well. If you are not a die-hard Shape Tape fan I would definitely give this a try, it did not disappoint. Buy our pick

3. CYO Cosmetics Long Lasting Foundation Lifeproof vs. Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

The wear time of the CYO and Fenty are all day. Both have a matte finish and set themselves. Fenty has a large shade range that focuses a lot on the red and yellow tones. CYO also has a large range, however, they range from warm to cooler tones as well. Both have a very thin feel to them with the benefit of being full coverage. They are also water-based. Our beauty reviewer has noticed with Fenty, once the water evaporates and the makeup sets, there is a color change, while there is no change to the CYO. With the price of CYO running you about $7 and Fenty around $32, we say CYO is the way to go! Buy our pick

2. NYX Epic Ink Liner vs. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Kat Von D brand is $20 & NYX is $9. You actually get a bit more product in the NYX liner as well. Both colors are very black. They dry down quickly and do not smudge. The liner still looks great after a 12 hour work day. Kat Von D's tip is a bit longer, therefore a little bit easier to do detail work but it doesn't make the NYX any less desirable. We would definitely suggest skipping Kat Von D's liner & just buying this one. Buy our pick

1. NYX Micro Brow Pencil vs. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil

ABH is $21 and NYX is $6.29. Our makeup maven says: NYX's bristles on the brow brush were longer and more firm whereas Anastasia's were softer.  Our tester used the darkest shade for both products and the pigmentation was very similar. Both looked nearly identical after application. We would recommend switching to NYX, which is half the price! Buy our pick
