Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kit in Tipsy vs. Ulta Beauty Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Motivation

Similarity Score: 89%

Makeup Maven, Kristin, says:This is the first product from the Ulta collection that I have tried, and it held right up to the Kylie liquid lipstick! I found this to be a closer comparison in the formula to Kylie's liquid lipstick than Sephora's, although the color isn't a spot on dupe (but was close enough for me to wear side by side). I tested both of these products over lip liner, and then alone and in both comparisons, they performed similarly. Wear time is good, and both were relatively transfer proof - although I recommend applying lightly! Both of these shades are opaque and weren't streaky at all, so it was easy to apply too much and then find yourself with lipstick left everywhere (especially with the applicator on the Ulta lippie). I found that I prefer both formulas over a liner so that they are more comfortable to wear, and don't dry down to a total matte finish. I would definitely recommend trying the Ulta lippies out before investing in the Kylie products (especially if you're ordering from her site - shipping was SLOW). Buy our pick

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kit in Tipsy vs. Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Sweet Raspberry

Similarity Score: 84%

Kristin says: I was impressed with the comfort level of the Kylie liquid lipstick when paired over the lipliner that came as part of the lip kit (I wore it all over the lips, as suggested). However, when paired together, the products wore off the lips strangely, definitely requiring a total removal and reapplication. When wearing the liquid lip alone, it gave a MUCH more drying and flat matte in finish. The Sephora product is a more liquidy formula and does tend to wear off more quickly (especially on the inside of the lips first). Neither of these products bled outside my lip lines, were very easy to apply and smell pretty good. Honestly, I really enjoy the Sephora lippies but in this case, I'd go with Kylie's liquid lip - especially when worn over a liner. Buy our pick

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kit in Tipsy vs. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in More Better

Similarity Score: 68%

Makeup Maven, Kristin, says: While I don't love that Kylie's product is more than double the price here, I have to recommend the Kylie formula in this comparison. I tested these two both on top of a liner (as suggested with the Kylie lip kit), and alone, and both times, I had to be very aware of the Colourpop lipstick because it was NOT transfer proof. It just simply did not dry down on me at any point over the three days I wore it. While I didn't need to reapply constantly - the color is long lasting - I just was not confident wearing it, and found myself checking the mirror constantly. I repeatedly had to fix my lip lines, which was challenging as it also bled slightly. Additionally, it wore off poorly and unevenly. The Kylie lipstick, on the other hand, locked into place and wasn't uncomfortable to wear over a lipliner (I did find it to be a bit drying on its own). Also worth noting here - the pictures of these two lippies look similar in tone, but the Colourpop is a noticeably darker shade on the lips. Buy Our Pick
